a workshop where participants create a story based on the fundamental structure of a fairytale taken from a process called “making monsters.”
Laura Simms is an internationally renowned storyteller, writer, teacher and activist committed to excellent performances and compassionate action in the world. Her groundbreaking work combines ancient myth and fairytale with personal narrative. The New York Times calls her “a major force in the revival of storytelling in America.” Her adopted son, Ishmael Beah, author of “A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier” has inspired Laura to continue her uncovering of the inherent goodness that cannot be destroyed or stifled.
